Rehoboth Beach Delaware
Rehoboth Beach is Delaware's largest and most popular beach resort on the entire Delmarva peninsula. It is considered to be the "Nation's Summer Capital" and is Delaware's largest coastal town. For four decades, Rehoboth Beach has been developing commercially and residentially in Sussex County; one of the fastest growing counties in the nation in the last five years. Hundreds of thousands of people travel here each year for vacation, thriving on tax-free shopping, quaint resorts, and family fun.
The resort area provides a variety of accommodations from clean, cozy bed and breakfasts to many fine hotels, as you can see in our listings. Other options include condos, apartments, cottages, homes and retreat houses. Consult a local realtor to find resort lodging for you other than a hotel. Have a pet you want to bring? Not to worry, hotels such as Atlantic Inn & Suites offers pet accommodations so the family pet can enjoy vacation with you as well. For a full listing of area resorts, consort our Rehoboth Beach area lodging section.
Off the beach, the Rehoboth Beach area attractions offers bandstand concerts, a convention center, shops of all kinds, outlet shopping, restaurants, amusements, and an exciting nightlife. Our mile-long boardwalk spans the coastline, which is wide enough to allow for bike riding, strolling or jogging. The Boardwalk, now a mile long, was originally built in 1873 on high ground between the beach and Surf Avenue, which ran the full length of the ocean front. Many storms have changed the configuration of the Rehoboth Beach boardwalk over the years, but in 1879, the original Henlopen Hotel was built on the site now occupied by a hotel of the same name.
Rehoboth Avenue
